AASP-MN Holds Raffle to Support Career Recruitment Program

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) recently kicked off raffle sales for a 2012 Custom Fat Bagger Razorback motorcycle and bike trailer. The motorcycle and trailer donated by honorary AASP-MN member, Roger Bonn, recently retired from Peter’s Body Shop, St. Cloud, and his wife, Jill.

AASP-MN will raffle the 2012 Custom Fat Bagger Razorback motorcycle pictured above to support collision repair and automotive technician recruitment.

Funds raised from the raffle will support the Minnesota Careers in Auto Repair & Service (MNCARS) campaign, whose goal is to raise awareness and recruit people into Minnesota’s technical college collision repair

BASF Adds Three Single-Line Distributors in Nevada and Florida

BASF Automotive Refinish announced it has expanded its distribution footprint with the addition of three new ColorSource, single-line distributors.

Reno Paint Mart joined the BASF ColorSource community in Nevada, and will carry R-M Diamont and LIMCO Supreme products. Reno Paint Mart is a multi-store organization that offers industrial, automotive, interior and exterior house paint to customers. As part of the ColorSource community, Reno Paint part is expanding into the refinish business with BASF’s paint systems.

Service King Acquires Collision Repair Center in Colorado

Service King Collision Repair Centers announced the organization has acquired Airport Auto Body located in Aurora, Colo. With the addition, Service King officially expands to 11 convenient repair centers across the state of Colorado.

I-CAR Reports More Collision Repair Facilities Training in 2017

PPG Reports Sales Up Nearly 8% in Fourth Quarter of 2017

Automotive refinish coatings organic sales improved by a mid-single-digit percentage.

PPG (NYSE:PPG) reported fourth quarter 2017 net sales of approximately $3.7 billion, up nearly 8 percent versus the prior year. Sales volumes increased by 3 percent year-over-year and selling prices improved sequentially for the third consecutive quarter, adding less than 1 percent to sales growth. Favorable foreign currency translation improved net sales by more than 3 percent, or about $115 million, and acquisitions-related sales, net of divestitures, added less than 1 percent to sales growth.

ABRA Acquires Collision Repair Center in Pennsylvania

ABRA Auto Body & Glass announced the addition of a new location in Parkesburg, Pa., approximately 50 miles west of Philadelphia.

Located at 5547 Lincoln Hwy in Parkesburg, the facility, LC Auto Body, was acquired by ABRA on January 12. The 16,000 sq. ft. repair center has 31 bays and 27 employees.
