Lord Corp Announces Exclusive Distribution Agreement with Saint-Gobain

LORD Corporation, maker of Fusor brand adhesives used in the collision repair market, has entered into an exclusive distribution relationship with Saint-Gobain to bring Fusor Aftermarket Repair Adhesives to the North American collision repair industry as a member of the Refinish Solutions Group.

As a part of the agreement, Fusor will now be part of the full line of products that Saint-Gobain distributes to body shops in the US, Canada and Mexico.  LORD will continue to provide support and supply adhesives directly to the OEMs and their distributors to further enhance Fusor’s long standing OEM connection.

FCA Opens Parts Distribution Center in Virginia

FCA US celebrated the official opening of a new Mopar Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Winchester, Va. The 400,000-plus square-foot facility represents a $12.2 million investment by FCA US and more than 70 jobs over two shifts. Service King Launches Mobile App for Technicians

Service King Collision Repair Centers announced the company is primed to digitize the full vehicle repair process with the national rollout of its custom-designed, patented mobile app Overdrive MD.

Caliber Sets Challenge to Collect 5 Million Meals for Children During Summer

In its ongoing commitment to fight childhood hunger, Caliber Collision is raising the bar with a goal to collect 5 million meals during its 6th Annual Restoration Food Drive, from April 17 to May 19, benefiting 49 food banks across the country.

Caliber is partnering with its network of teammates, customers, business partners, schools and local communities to increase the number of meals collected in 2017 by 60 percent. Caliber’s annual Food Drive is a grassroots effort driven by teammates nationwide who challenge each other in friendly competitions while hosting a wide variety of activities that engage and encourage their local communities to donate cash and food items.

Collection centers are set up at each of Caliber’s 488 store locations across 17 states. Cash donations can also be made online.

Ford Collision Repair Parts Truckload Program Celebrates 20th Anniversary, Adds 61 Parts to Program in April

Ford Customer Service Division’s (FCSD) Collision Parts Truckload Program, which began in 1997 with 40 fascias, is marking its 20th anniversary this year while continuing to expand, adding 61 new parts in April.

ASA Releases Position Statement on Diagnostic Scanning During Collision Repair

ASE and Collision Repair Education Foundation Partner on Chicago Career Fair

State Farm Adds Welding Certification Requirement for Select Service Collision Repair Shops

NABC Members Donate Vehicle to Single Mother at URG Conference

Members of the National Auto Body Council (NABC) and the United Recyclers Group gave a single mother and her three young children in San Antonio a much-needed lift when they presented the family with a practically brand new car fully loaded with gifts and toys.

Percentage of Dealers Operating Body Shops Down in 2016

While the percentage of dealers is down, dealership body shop sales increased over last year.

According to the latest research from the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), 37 percent of dealerships featured on-site body shops in 2016, down from 39 percent in 2015 but above the 36 percent in 2014.

Based upon the percentages reported by NADA, there were approximately 6243 dealers operating body shops in 2016, a small decrease due to the decline in the percentage operating on-site body shops compared to 2015.
